You gotta understand that some people never really grow. They never learn their lesson. They never recognise their mistakes, they never acknowledge their faults, they never admit they were in the wrong. You will never receive an apology from them, and you will never see their behaviour change.

This is why “forgiveness” (you don’t have to call it that – call it “pushing a person out of your conscious thought” or whatever) isn’t for the benefit of another. Some people don’t give a shit if you forgive them, because they don’t believe they’ve done anything wrong or hurtful. But as long as you keep obsessing over making them see or change or regret, they control you. They’re pulling your strings and directing your life. But once you stop giving a person that power, you control you. Those people described by OP are stuck in a cycle of hurting themselves and others. You? You can be free and grow. Rendering them powerless in your mind means you are already better of than they are. And as long as it’s you who recognizes that, you’re golden.

Markus and Nines are very fashionable chaps. Nobody expects them to bond over clothes. They go on shopping sprees and drag Simon and Gavin along with them.

Gavin’s the one to steer Markus in the way of v-necks after seeing how Simon’s gaze lingers.

To repay him, Simon quietly gives Nines dating tips. The result of this is Nines and Simon becoming firm friends. But nobody could tell, they talk only ever via android messaging so externally they seem to all but ignore each other.

This illusion is somewhat broken when Simon accidentally blanks a human who takes offence at an android ignoring him and not moving out of his way. Before he can do more than raise a threatening hand, Nines has the guy on the floor. He looks over at Simon impressively who boredly stares back. Everyone is so confused. Simon was only focussed on keeping a straight face while informing Nines that “turtlenecks are uncircumcised sweaters”.

In short: Markus and Nines as fashion bros. Simon and Nines as secret brotp.
