Look there’s a lot of bad parts, that’s unavoidable with a Fandom that massive, but there’s a lot of good too and we need to stop judging fandoms by their worst.

They also pay fairly for commission work, support art and artists, and have taken concrete measures, far more than many other subcultures, to aggressively eject neo-nazis from their community.
I mean, I don’t have to like or understand the sexual component, but it’s also none of my business. So I’m cool with them on the basis of that other stuff.

As someone who has a commissioner who I would consider a REGULAR who is a furry, I can say with honesty I have never been paid better. My highest flat price is $51 and that alone feels like a lot of money to me when I get paid, but this person is ALWAYS asking for extra stuff, which brings the price up in the 70-100 range.
Furries are literally the coolest and chillest people you will ever meet.
So, as some of you know. I have a messed up shoulder. Right now I can only type if the arm is propped up and the keyboard is set up just right. Or I push through the pain like an idiot.
As it stands- Torn Labrum in the left shoulder. Playing chicken with the insurance so I can see the Orthopedic Surgeon and we can figure out how to fix it.
The fun part right now is that I have had this since the end of July. No use of my left shoulder since July. Because of my insurance. They denied the MRI, then denied it again, then waited until the buyout and then the new insurance company denied everything. Then I finally got my MRI. It turned out to be something a GP can’t fix, so off to the Ortho I go! Only to hear two weeks later it’s approved! Yay! I call the ortho they gave me a number for- they don’t take my insurance. I freak out because now that means we have to drive 2 hours away to the next city for appts and I can’t afford that shit!
Then they call me back. They don’t take my insurance, but if they put me on for an appt, they can ask for a temporary contract just for me. So now we’re playing chicken. I mean, waiting patiently for them to approve or deny it before the 20th. (my appt date)
In the mean time, I am slowly running out of Tramadol (Codeine allergy, can’t take anything stronger) and can’t visit my GP anymore for pain meds because she just left the practice. So now- I have no GP, and I’m playing the waiting game with the insurance so I can see the Ortho.
